Attending the Leigh Park Fun Day held on Saturday 20th September were two members of staff from Salisbury District Hospital who were fundraising for the Stars Appeal, the hospital charity, for a dedicated breast unit at the hospital.
This will enable the hospital to provide an even better, quicker and more dignified treatment to women. Berni Dunn who lives in Westbury and Tina Pearson are both nurses in the Day Surgery Unit in the hospital and will be trekking the Grand Canyon to raise funds for the appeal.
Together with 27 others, the trek will take place in May 2015 and they will be trekking over five days for 40 miles up, down and through the Grand Canyon.
As part of this fun raising Berni is selling a charity dog calendar which has been produced with the help of family, friends and patrons of the Horse and Groom in Westbury, who have allowed their dogs to be photographed. The calendar can be obtained from the Horse and Groom in Westbury for a donation of £6.
