The White Horse View launched its exciting new chapter under new owners with a Grand Reopening on Friday 6th March, headlined by singer‑songwriter and viral sensation Luke Gittins.
The evening marked the venue’s official reopening after its recent takeover by the Frome‑based Kingston Group and was attended by Westbury Mayor Jane Russ and local councillors Carole King, Gordon King and Chris Barrett.
Luke Gittins – who first rose to fame when Ed Sheeran invited him to perform live on stage at the O2 Arena in 2023 – treated guests to an exclusive performance, while The Covertronics kept the party atmosphere going late into the evening with their high‑energy hits.
Kingston Group director Gradyn Runyeard‑Hunt said, “We were especially honoured to welcome the Mayor of Westbury, along with so many members of the local community who came out to support the venue.
“The atmosphere, live music from Luke Gittins and The Covertronics, canapes, drinks, and conversations made it a truly special evening, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the night such a success.
“It’s an incredible venue which will offer so much for everyone both near and far. As one of the venues under the Kingston Group umbrella, we’re thrilled to support the community and more with our events.
“Part of our vision for the future is to be able to support grassroots musicians and help create a pathway for them to start out in their chosen industry.
“Another strong part of our ethos is backing British farming. By supporting the community and local suppliers, local farmers, we are contributing to the local economy which in turn makes living in the area much more enjoyable for all.
“This is just the beginning for The White Horse View — we have lots of exciting events, great food and memorable moments planned in the months ahead.”
The reopening builds on February’s announcement that the Kingston Group had taken over the popular venue with plans to make it one of Wiltshire’s leading destinations for food, live music and community events. The team say long‑term ambitions include hosting festivals, seasonal markets and weddings, making use of the venue’s panoramic views of the iconic White Horse.
