THE next Inflatable Fun Dayz sessions at Grassacres Park will be on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April.
Up to six inflatables of all shapes and sizes as well as popular garden games will be set up in Grassacres Park from 11am – 4pm. It’s a great chance to let the little ones burn off some energy in a safe environment.
At the first event earlier this month, a group of children with special educational needs bounced around the inflatables during a time slot especially for them.
Star Painter from Westbury Parent Carer Support Club said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for the children. This would ordinarily be a difficult situation for children with special educational needs, but because this hour is just for them, it’s ideal.
“It’s been a great success and we’re so pleased the council organised this.
Town council events coordinator Verity Bartlett said, “Despite the weather, it was good and we had a lot of children come along. Hopefully it will be less windy and rainy for the next one.
“This is something new for Westbury and picks up on a similar event run last year in Warminster Park. We are planning to run them on selected weekends from March to September and really hope it takes off.
“Unfortunately, as it’s all outside we are dependent on fine dry weather leading up to each event, but we’ve got our fingers crossed.”
Mayor of Westbury, Stephen Andrews said, “This is an excellent event organised by the council and the first weekend was a success. As more people hear about it, I think it will become more popular. There’s plenty to do and all in a fun but safe environment.”
Entry to each event is £5 per child, and they’ll be given a wristband so the children can come and go all day. There will also be light refreshments available.
Further information can be found on the posters around the town, or by contacting the events coordinator on 01373 822232.
