JUNIOR Miss Westbury, Annie Bell, competed in the Junior Miss British Isles competition last month, just missing out on the title.
However, Annie has received a sponsored entry into the Miss English Rose finals, representing Westbury, due to the calibre of entrants being so high. This will take place in Southport in September.
Annie was scouted to become Junior Miss Westbury via her instagram page by the competition, a page she has set up for her interests in performing arts. She attends the Pauline Quirke Academy of performing arts in Bath and is a regular performer during shows and musical performances at Matravers.
Annie said, “The Junior Miss British Isles competition was great fun, a girly time of hair, make-up and the runway. Everybody was very friendly and helpful and lots of friendships were made. It was all really relaxed and I’m very much looking forward to the next one.”
Alison Bell, Annie’s mum said, “I loved the day and the confidence it gave Annie. The camaraderie between the girls and mums is great, everyone is out to enjoy and help each other, not to compete against one another.”
As well as a sponsored place, Annie has also been asked that she does a collection for charity. Many others representing their towns in the competition have been asked to go to local events such as shop openings and charity fundraisers.
