IT has been a busy couple of months for Liam Ashman and Callum Browne, snooker players at Players Club in Westbury, who both compete in the South of England U21 Cuestars Tournaments.
Firstly 12-year-old Liam in only his second ever tournament in Chandlers Ford, came runner-up in the monthly plate knockout, beating many older, more experienced players en route to the final. Then Callum in the same cup competition a month later in Fareham went one better to win the final! This is Callum’s third victory of the season following wins at Salisbury and an open competition in Keynsham, Bristol.
World snooker coach Duncan Ashman will soon be off to the World Championships after being chosen to coach for the second year running in the Cuezone. He said of their achievements, “Both Liam and Callum have worked very hard at the Junior Academy over the last few months, and it is great for them to see that work paying off.”
