Lauren Chidgey successfully passed her 1st Dan Black belt grading in Shotokan Karate on Saturday 6th June at the age of 12 years old.
Lauren has trained very hard for this prestigious black belt and is to be commended for her perseverance to achieve this accolade.
Lauren has trained at Westbury for the last four years with Tony Preston, Master Instructor with The Blackbelt Zone Fitness Academy. The Grading consists of a fitness test, combination techniques, semi-freestyle defences, knife-defence, katas and 20 minutes of sparring.
The Grading took place in Westbury at The Academy’s main dojo, with family and club members watching and supporting Lauren.
