Longleat has extended its highly popular Festival of Light due to popular demand – but it’s your last chance to see it this weekend.
Originally scheduled to finish on Sunday 4th January, Longleat recently announced plans to open on extra dates, including the weekend of 16th and 17th January.
The park will be open from 3.00pm – 7.30pm on each day with visitors being able to purchase special ‘Twilight Tickets’ costing £14.95 for adults and £10.95 for children.
The Festival of Light, which opened in November, features 23,000 individual lanterns, alongside a 20-metre-tall Porcelain Pagoda made out of 80,000 porcelain cups, bowls and plates.
Among the other extraordinary artworks is a 50-metre-long floating dragon boat, a 20-metre-tall pagoda made up of 80,000 pieces of porcelain, the Chinese zodiac and a stunning recreation of the famous terracotta army.
Now in its second year, the event has proved extremely popular with bookings significantly up on the previous years.
Longleat’s CEO, Bob Montgomery said, “The Festival of Light continues to attract thousands of visitors to Longleat over the Christmas and New Year period. This year’s event was the biggest and best so far and it has become a real favourite with people travelling from across the country to enjoy the spectacle, alongside all our other festive attractions.
“We have decided to offer visitors these extra dates to enjoy the lights before they are taken down again for another year.”
