SANTA is returning to the streets of Westbury next month as part of the Westbury Lions Club Christmas Float, and this year the float will be entertaining people with specially recorded Christmas carols, music from local schools and special songs from the Bratton Silver Band!
As well as this, children can get their letters into Santa who will take the time to send a personalised response back to each child.
The Lions say, “This year we have something a little bit special as we travel around Westbury with Santa. Lion Jason Bull has been in touch with local schools and has put together a play list that will include carols and music from the schools and some extra special tracks from Bratton Silver Band, all recorded music for your pleasure.
“In addition to the music, the Santa Mail service will be available again. All the children need to do is put their letter to Santa (with their name and address clearly written on it) in the mailboxes on our float when they see us, and then a few days later they will receive a personalised response from Santa through the door. We know from community feedback that this is a great service that people love and really helps the children connect with the experience.
“It is possible that routes may be cancelled at short notice and will be weather dependent. We ask that children are supervised at all times when visiting the Christmas float.”
Westbury Infant School said, ‘We included some children with special educational needs in our recording, who thoroughly enjoyed singing, knowing it was being sent to Father Christmas. Their little faces lit up the room.”
Bratton Silver Band also recorded a special 12 track CD which is expected to be available in time for sale for Christmas.
