RESIDENTS of all ages and even four-legged friends can limber up for this year’s Xmas 3k Fun Run in aid of Westbury Lions which takes place at Leighton Recreation Centre on Saturday 11th December at the later than usual time of 11am, to accommodate Parkrun beforehand.
“We have snow, a free Santa hat for everyone to wear and a medal for all finishers,” said the organisers Redfish Events.
“This event is contained in the grounds of Leighton Recreation Centre and it’s just four laps around the sports field. Get cheered on by Santa and mum. Then look out for dad who has the Jelly Babies.
“Everyone is welcome: adults, children, dogs and fancy dress.”
There will be medals for the first male and female, first boy and girl aged 11 to 16, first boy and girl aged 10 and under, first dog and best fancy dress.
On-site there will be toilets, refreshments available to purchase (tbc – at the Cricket Club) and First Aid cover. Parking will be limited, so please think about car sharing or walking if local. 3K entrance fee is £6 (affiliated), £8 (unattached), under 10s must be accompanied by an adult. Family of four: £28.
