LOCAL funeral directors Elizabeth Snell & Family recently supported a charity quiz and curry night by providing the prizes.
The quiz and curry night was held at Leigh Park Community Centre, raising £650 for the British Heart Foundation.
The funeral directors provided the prize money for the winners, enabling all the money raised from the evening to go straight to the charity.
Elizabeth Snell said, “We were more than happy to provide the cash prize because otherwise money from tickets would have had to be used. This way, all the money would go to the charity and that’s brilliant.
“We like to support local charity events whenever we can, it’s important to support the local community.”
When arranging funerals for families Elizabeth Snell & Family are able to manage donations in lieu of flowers by receiving cheques or taking online donations through their website, which is then sent on to the charity of the family’s choosing.
So far this year, they have sent £860 to The British Heart Foundation on behalf of families and this amount is set to rise in the near future.
