INTERNATIONAL musician and resident of Westbury, Julian Bahula, has urged that the community hospital is re-commissioned.
Julian, who travelled to the RUH Bath after suffering a heart attack said, “When you are critically ill, it’s a long journey by road. We need Westbury Community Hospital.
“We do not need more housing when the infrastructure of our town is at breaking point.
“I have found Westbury and its population to be friendly and people are always ready to stop and chat.”
Julian has offered help to the STOP campaign and has given a video interview which you can see on the campaign website: www.whitehorsewestbury.com.
You can also hear excerpts from the first Nelson Mandela Birthday Concert from 1983. During the “Release Nelson Mandela and All Political Prisoners Campaign”, Julian Bahula decided to diversify. Because African music had not been promoted in Britain, he felt that his own experience provided him with the insight to fill the gap.
Tsafrika Productions was formed by Julian and was launched at the first Nelson Mandela Birthday Concert on 18th July 1983 at the Alexandra Palace, co-promoted by Julian and the Anti-Apartheid Movement.
