A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with a disturbance at the Westbury Conservative Club where a woman was stabbed.
Officers attended the scene at about 12.45am on Sunday 16th August following reports of a disturbance involving a large number of people and that a woman had been stabbed.
Jordan Bingham, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said, “He has been remanded into custody to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on 16th September.
“This follows an incident at Westbury Conservative Club during which a 24-year-old woman sustained a knife wound which was not life-threatening.”
A 21-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of assaulting a member of the public.
A statement on Westbury Conservative Club’s Facebook page said, “We are continuing to assist the police with their ongoing investigations and would like to assure all of our members and visitors that their safety and welfare remains our highest priority.”
