WILLING volunteers spent last weekend improving Westbury Rugby Club’s clubhouse, boosted by the support of nearby businesses. Coming hot on the heels of a £45,000 grant – which has installed a new sewerage system on the site – the club’s home at White Horse Country Park is coming on in leaps and bounds.
Last weekend a team of volunteers knuckled down to build a ramp to give the clubhouse disabled access, create paths around the clubhouse, and undertake maintenance work on the pitch and grounds.
Westbury Rugby Club was one of a number of clubs round the country putting in the effort to improve their club on the NatWest RugbyForce weekend, and received £500 from the fund towards its work.
Westbury Rugby Club would like to thank Lafarge for their generous donation of cement, as well as Transcar and Carpleton who also donated materials.
Thanks to a £45,000 grant from Hills Group/Community First, the club’s new sewerage system has already been installed.
Westbury Rugby Club has teams for men, women and juniors, and always welcomes new members. For more information please contact Theron Bates, secretary, on 07967 482 671.
