Westbury’s mayor and deputy mayor, Cllr Jane Russ and Cllr Mark Bailey, will continue to serve the town for the coming year.
At a Westbury Town Council meeting on Monday 12th May, councillors voted that the duo should continue in their roles for a further 12 months.
The role of mayor includes attending civic events, chairing meetings and supporting local charities and organisations.
Cllr Russ said, “I’m absolutely delighted to continue to be Westbury’s mayor. There were many projects started during my last term, and I’d love to see them completed.
“As always, my thoughts are always Westbury first.”
Cllr Bailey added, “It’s an honour to be re-elected to serve the residents and town of Westbury as deputy mayor for another year.
“These are very exciting times for the town and council as we move into our first full 12 months of Devolution of Services, working towards a better Westbury for all, and I’m excited to be part of that process along with my fellow councillors and the amazing council staff.”
