Members of our group have been busy helping with a variety of events during the school holidays.
Family Fun days at Westbury and Dilton Marsh were well attended and we were there!
The Village Carnival on the playing field at Dilton Marsh where the Holy Tea Tent supervised by Jenny Denton did a roaring trade with home made cakes and teas. Other members helped with the cleaning of the Mothers Union Caravan at Rockley Park.
Others will be attending the Service of Celebration at Winchester for 140 years of Mothers Union care for families.
Our group meeting for August, held at the home of Clive and Jocelyn Short, was addressed by Rosemary Allen from the Mothers’ Union office in Salisbury, who talked about Mothers’ Union Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. The changes from simple beginnings to the present day World Wide Christian help for families.
Our next meeting on October 6th 10am at the home of Peter and Janet Likeman, will hear Sandra Gamble talk about the Angel Tree Project which provides Christmas presents for the children of prisoners including the ones at Erlestoke here in Wiltshire.
