LOCAL MP, Andrew Murrison, has written to Baroness Vere, the roads minister, to find out when the Dorset Coast Connectivity Study will be released as it is ‘an important piece of the jigsaw’ for a Westbury bypass.

A meeting had been scheduled by the Department for Transport with relevant MPs in September to check progress but it was delayed due to the death of the Queen.
The study is crucial, said Andrew, because if the A350 is chosen as the preferred strategic route for traffic accessing the M4 from the south coast, there are clear implications for a Westbury bypass.
Andrew, a longstanding campaigner for a western route bypass to relieve pressure in the centre of the town, said, “In getting Westbury bypassed this study is an important piece of the jigsaw. I hope that we will get some favourable news from the minister in response to my letter and that she will be able to brief me and my colleagues on next steps.”
