A music festival is coming to Wiltshire – and you don’t even need to leave your home to attend.
Some of the UK’s favourite artists, along with a host of up-and-coming local acts, will be playing at Airwaves, a three day festival broadcast entirely on BBC Radio Wiltshire.
From 10am until late, Friday, May 29, to Sunday, May 31, presenters will be bringing you the latest from the main stage, BBC Introducing stage, Upload stage, dance tent and more.
BBC Radio Wiltshire presenter and festival curator Marie Lennon said: “Thousands of people make incredible memories at music festivals every summer, and with coronavirus stopping so many of our favourite festivals we wanted to do something to fill the gap. Have the radio on, get yourself a drink and maybe even camp in your back garden! We’ll provide some brilliant live music, and loads of that festival atmosphere, you just need to imagine you’re sat in a field cheering along. Wellies are optional, but I’ve dug mine out!”
The presenters will also be talking to some of the chefs bringing their culinary skills to the festival’s food area, and there will be morning well-being workshops, live poetry and family activities.
The names of the acts that have signed up to Airwaves will be released live on air in the coming days.
Festival goers can tune in on FM, DAB, online or on the BBC Sounds app.
