WESTBURY’S All Saints Church is welcoming a new curate.
Holly Newton has been training at Sarum College and will be moving to the town with her husband Tom, their two children, Anna (9) and Joseph (5), cat, Marble, and guinea pigs, Teddy and George.
Introducing herself, Holly says, “I am passionate about sharing the good news of God’s love, making the church accessible to all including those with additional needs, building community and baking cakes! I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all and to working with you. I am holding you all in my prayers.”
All Saints vicar, Revd Rebecca Harris, has appealed for any resident who would like to help welcome the family to join preparations at the curacy house before they move in.
Rebecca says, “Holly is due to move into the curacy house on Tuesday 1st June.
“We would like to give her a warm welcome. We are planning on having a working party in the house on Saturday 29th May from 10am to do some cleaning and gardening before the family move in.” Anyone who would like to get involved can contact churchwardens Beth Thomas on 01373 865090 or Ruth Hann on 01373 823 550.
“We would also like to put together a hamper of items for them to enjoy,” Rebecca added. “If you would like to contribute to this, please see Beth or Ruth, bring them to church in advance, or to the house on the Saturday morning.
“Items such as tea, coffee, biscuits, cake, sugar, plus any treats for the family to show our welcome and hospitality. It would be good if they didn’t have to cook a meal on the first night.”
The family are moving from Trowbridge where Holly is currently based at St James Church. She will start at All Saints after her ordainment at Salisbury Cathedral on 27th June.
