A NEW choir is opening in Westbury in the new year. Lee Ingram, who runs other choirs in the area, is taking over the leadership of a group of enthusiastic singers, previously known at the White Horse Community Choir – under the banner of his One Voice Community Choir.
“The choir will be meeting on Monday 10th January, 7.30pm at the Baptist Church, West End,” said Lee. “Anyone who loves to sing is encouraged to join – there are no auditions and nothing to lose but your inhibitions!
“One Voice was formed in 2013 and has several classes running each week in other local towns,” said Lee. “I felt at the time that there were not enough openings for people who loved to sing but couldn’t read music.
“The One Voice Choir groups use songs sheets and learn melodies and harmony lines by ear. There are popular songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s, tunes from musicals and films and uplifting melodies that are mostly uncomplicated and light- hearted.
“It would be great to see you on the 10th January or perhaps buy a friend a month’s membership for Christmas!”
