Outgoing President of the Inner Wheel Club of Westbury, Maureen Boyd, presented the incoming President, Linda Eaglesham, with the chain of office recently.
Linda thanked Maureen for her hard work and dedication during her year in office and said she wants to carry on Maureen’s idea of raising money for local charities.
The club reports, “The ladies of Westbury Inner Wheel spent a most enjoyable afternoon, in June, at the home of member Joyce Atkinson who was celebrating her 90th birthday. The sun was shining and we were entertained by the Steeple Rocks choir, of which Joyce is a member. Joyce takes an active part in club events and has even enjoyed playing skittles for the club.
“Preparations for the upcoming Family Fun Day on the 20th July, a joint venture with Rotary, are well in hand and is in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind. Blind skittles and wellie wanging are two of the featured events.”
