WESTBURY United has announced a number of signings ahead of the new season.
In what will be United’s 100th year as a club, a number of familiar faces will also be returning – under the watch of new managers Lewis Porter and Ricky Hulbert – to make a bid for the top of the Toolstation Premier Division.
Greg Coulson, Club Chairman and Secretary, told White Horse News what fans could expect this season…
Ben Griffiths – “Griff is back on the train for what we are hoping will be his first full season for the club. A great versatile player who will be important player in the side if we can keep him off the treatment table.”
Jason Henley – “Jason is back for another season with the Whitehorsemen and offers real quality. The full back has been a great addition to the squad.”
Dan Jordan – “Mr WUFC is all in for another year at the Lane. An invaluable member of the team both on and off the pitch. Welcome back DJ.”
Will Thomson. “Will has been superb for us since he joined from Melksham Town FC. We look forward to seeing him in green when the season re-starts!”
Jamie Jordan -. “170 games, not out. We are delighted that the magician is back for a fifth season! His quality and experience is irreplaceable. A true Whitehorseman.”
Callum Demkiv. “45 goals in 72 games for WUFC speaks for itself. Smoochie will be a massive player for the club again next season, we are over the moon to welcome him back.”
Goalkeeper Ed Baldy – “He’s back for another season in the sticks at Meadow Lane. Ed has been the undisputed #1 for the club since he joined from Odd Down FC three seasons ago, saving our asses time after time with his consistent performances.”
Skipper Steve Hulbert is also making a return. “The skipper has been a fixture in the side for the last 4 seasons and will be leading the side out once again next season.”
About the signing of Sammy Jordan – “We are delighted Super Sammy will be in green this year the man promises goals and has been a perfect addition, on and off the pitch.”
Remaining with United, despite an offer to leave, is Jordan Pinder. “After a lucrative offer to leave, the self proclaimed best player in the league has blessed us with his services for another season. A true Clubman and can play anywhere on the park. We love you Pinder.”
Returning from injury for another season is Josh Ferguson. “Fergs missed the whole of the null and void season through injury but we are hoping to see more of him this campaign. One of the best in the league when he is on it.”
Also returning for the 20/21 season is Joe Stradling. “The fittest man in the Toolstation Western League is back. Strads relentless energy and commitment to the cause has been second to none since he joined the club and we are delighted the man from Somerset is back.”
And finally, returning is fan favourite, Dan Price. “The 17/18 title winning captain is back and raring to go. A fan favourite and a man mountain at the back. We are delighted to have him back, fully onboard.”
