Westbury United FC is celebrating after securing generous new sponsors from the local business community, who have stepped in to help as the club struggles from the affects of closure due to Covid.
Club volunteer, Terry Morgan said, “These two new sponsors, because of their generosity, have probably secured the future of Westbury United FC. Currently, because of the Covid epidemic, there are no games and the club house and bar are both closed. We have no income at all and are relying on local sponsorship, but still have bills to pay.”
The club wishes to thank Dave Withey and Laura Waters both of Skip It Recycling for becoming the sponsors of the club’s main stand. Skip It are based on the West Wilts Trading Estate.
Also, the club thanks Colin Miss of C M Motors of Dilton Marsh (working out of the Dilton Motors site in the High Street) for his sponsorship of the club house, both the Home and Away teams’ dugouts, and is also the sponsor of the club’s new PA system. Terry Morgan added, “Our esteemed clean up gang member and club announcer, Nick Pearce, will be installing and operating the new PA system.” Colin Miss will also be sponsoring the club’s three main strikers for next season.
• ALL of Westbury United’s league fixtures have been suspended until further notice due to the national lockdown.
United played their last league match on 28th December, losing 4-1 to Shepton Mallet.
