ORGANISERS at the West End Baptist Church are hosting a ‘safe space’, called Renew Westbury, every Saturday 10am to 12pm – and everyone is welcome!
Renew Wellbeing is a charity that is helping churches around the country to replicate the Renew Wellbeing café concept: a safe space where all are welcome.
The charity says, “Renew Westbury offers a quiet shared space where it is ok not to be ok. Whatever your mood, whether you’re feeling stressed or calm and composed, come in and escape life’s hustle and bustle for a while… join in with some art therapy, crafts, linger over a jigsaw puzzle, learn a new skill, or just relax and ‘be’ in our quiet space. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own hobbies.
“The free activities are based around the ‘five ways to wellbeing’ which promote good mental and emotional health. To connect, give, be active, keep learning and take notice will hopefully contribute towards a preventative approach to mental ill health.
“Renew Westbury is open to all, those of no faith or any faith. There is a short prayer time which guests are invited to join in with, but there is no obligation to do so. Under 16’s should be accompanied by a parent or carer.
“We would love to meet you. Come along and say ‘hello’, have a coffee and relax for a while.”
Renew Westbury is hosted by West End Baptist Church, situated in West End, Westbury, BA13 3JG.
