Zoom Service Sunday 17th May
An apology!
We are very sorry about last Sunday’s service. There was a national problem with Zoom and it wasn’t just us! We know it’s frustrating but please do persevere!

Reflection
I cannot believe that First Steps to Worship has actually been running for 30 years. The time has simply flown by and this friendly happy little group continues using exactly the same format as it did all those years ago when Curate Rev Dorothy Bellamy started it in 1990. Read more…

First Steps to Worship is 30!
On the 24th May, All Saints’ Church Westbury will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the First Steps to Worship Toddler Service. The service was started by Rev Dorothy Bellamy, who was the curate at the time, to provide a place of friendship and support to parents, carers and children. First Steps continues to provide this today. Our plans for a weekend of celebrating have been modified by the Corona virus but undaunted, are planning a special celebration service via Zoom.
The group is led by Sharon Jones who has been part of the group from the very first meeting and never left once her children grew up. She was joined by Jean and Peter Jane around 20 years ago along with Hilary Price and others from the Mothers Union who have helped with the refreshments over the years.
The format is still exactly the same, Bible story followed by singing, a short prayer then racing round the church and refreshments. Held every Wednesday morning in term time at 9.30am in the church.
Parents and carers appreciate this friendly and supportive group who continue to thrive and follow the same ethos that Dorothy Bellamy began in 1990.
Pentecost Sunday 31st May 2020
In celebration of the birth of the church, and the release of the Holy Spirit into the streets, I would like to invite you to ‘do’ something creative…this might be using words / images / sculpture / craft – please use the skills and interests you have to create something depicting Pentecost.
During the service I will ask you to hold up your creation and bless them – We can’t do displays in church at the moment but we can celebrate together physically via zoom or spiritually through prayer on Sunday 31st May at 10 am.

News from the Vicarage…
An update from the Vicarage garden!
As you can see the planting has begun, with grateful thanks to several contributors from all over the White Horse patch and beyond. We even have some livestock… about 40 tadpoles arrived on Saturday. We’ve only spotted one since but I am hopeful for the others. We had a night time visitor… you can just about make him out. And today I spotted our firs slow worm, which I am delighted about.
