A reunion celebrating three of Wiltshire’s best-known nightclubs of the 1980s and 1990s attracted almost 1,300 people to Westbury on Saturday.
The Reflections, Oscars and Goldiggers Reunion was held at Venom, the former Reflections nightclub on the West Wilts Trading Estate.
“It was an amazing night!” said organiser and promoter Chris Freeman. “We had just shy of 1,300 people turn up, from all the surrounding towns and with some people travelling back to the area specially for the weekend.
“All three rooms at Venom were packed to the rafters; it was a massive success.”
The event brought together former clubgoers and DJs associated with Reflections in Westbury, Oscars at Longleat near Warminster and Goldiggers in Chippenham.
Clubgoers enjoyed music from the 1980s and 1990s including party favourites and dancefloor classics, with performances from DJs who had previously played at the venues.
Chris said the idea for the reunion came from a conversation with Rick Grover, one of the original resident DJs at Reflections. “We felt the time was right to bring everyone together and celebrate the memories of these three iconic venues,” said Chris.
The event has attracted widespread positive feedback online, with many party-goers praising the atmosphere and the opportunity to meet old friends and relive memories of the clubs.
“Everything has been amazing, with so many great comments,” said Chris. “The atmosphere was just like back in the day.”
Following the success of the event, another reunion is planned for Saturday 13th March next year, again at Venom, the only one of the three venues still open.
“It was such a great night, we couldn’t not do another one,” said Chris. “So, make a date in your diary for another fantastic night of nostalgia!”
