A WESTBURY accountants office raised £60 for the RUH’s Forever Friends recently by selling homemade cakes.
Staff at Busy Books in Bratton held their own mini ‘bake off’ last month, and even had a visit from the hospital charity’s mascot, Big Ted.
Busy Books owner and Westbury woman Natasha Penny said, “We all love baking and there are always cakes in the office here so we thought we would take part in the RUH Bake off when we saw it advertised. We all made a different type of decorated cake for the occasion.
“We held an actual coffee morning when Big Ted visited, and took cakes out to all our regular customers’ offices throughout the week.
“We raised just over £60 in the end – not bad for pennies in a pot! We have asked for it to be donated to the neonatal unit as some friends of mine recently had a premature baby that benefitted from the services of the intensive care unit at RUH. We are so fortunate to have such local life saving resources.”
