Savencia Cheese Factory recently raised £850 from it’s fundraising cycle event, ‘The Queens 90th Birthday Virtual Cycle Ride’, for local charity Crosspoint Westbury.
Employees of Savencia cycled a total distance of 1 350 miles, the distance from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace then on to the Sandringham royal residence, finishing up at Balmoral Castle.
The challenge was completed on an exercise cycle on site at the cheese factory. Employees took it in turns to cycle the distance between the castles, including Paul Scrimgeour who took three days from his annual leave to complete a staggering 500 miles on the exercise cycle.
Steve Snook presented the cheque to Crosspoint chairman Len Clift, who expressed his gratitude to the Savencia team for their innovation and dedication in raising this generous amount, which will go towards the work at Crosspoint as the charity seeks to serve the community.
