GARDENS in Bratton were opened to the public on Sunday 10th June in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the Friends of St James, raising over £2,200.
There were 14 gardens open to the public during the day, with a huge crowd joining together for refreshments and discussions about their gardens and The Duke pub offered lunch and Pimm’s.
Colin Tagg of the Bratton branch of The Royal British Legion who had his garden open during the day said, “Everyone we spoke with praised the quality of the gardens, their variety, condition and the welcome they received around the village.
With the weather set fair and teas, coffees, cakes and ice creams served by a team of helpers at Ivy Cottage and Luccombe Terrace, the large number of visitors enjoyed a really great day.”
