A WESTBURY woman recently held her annual charity golf day at Cumberwell and raised over £2,500.
Linda Penney, who has been raising money for the British Heart Foundation since her husband had bypass surgery, raised more than £2,500 for the charity earlier this month.
Linda said, “Our charity golf day was a great success! The weather was kind and did not deter the teams from enjoying their golf.
“I would like to say a big big thank you to G4 Gas for sponsoring the event and to Ryan Williams of R Williams Painting and Decorating for sponsoring the trophies. A massive hit on the day was the amazing cake in the shape of a golf bag, which was donated by Sarah’s Cakes by Design.
“I host this event every year and this was one of the best for atmosphere and support. The winning team was Tailormade Technology from Andover, and Gary Eason retained his title from last year for the best individual score on the day.
“Cumberwell Park is a very welcoming course and the staff are friendly and helpful; Ali James and the team do an amazing job. In a rough tally up we have raised over £2,560 for the charity towards beating heart disease.”
