Following last year’s successful show, The West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group will be holding their annual railway show again this year on Saturday 3rd November.
The show, which will be the nineteenth show the group has put on in Westbury, will be held at the Paragon Hall, Haynes Road, BA13 3HA, open 10.00am – 4.30pm.
The entry prices this year are £5 adults, £4.50 concessions and Gauge 0 Guild members. Prices have remained at £10 for a family of 2+2 and £2 for children.
The hall is immediately adjacent to the High Street car park, where there are disabled facilities. For access, from the car park there is a slope down to the hall. There is a 2” step into the hall. Inside the hall, the floor is level. There is also a lower car park for longer paid parking.
The West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group has invited to the show this year the following;-
0 Gauge Layouts: Isbury Road, a loco shed layout designed and built by Dave Stevens. Keith Wareham’s 0 Gauge Test Track. Phil Bayley with a collection of vintage Hornby tinplate. The Bristol 0 Gauge Group will be operating a layout with working breakdown cranes, well worth spending time watching the operation of the cranes.
For the 00 enthusiast, regulars John Anderson and Paul Taylor will be back with their new work-in-progress layout Ashton Meadow, a layout of Savernake Lower station showing where the former Midland and South Western Junction line met the GWR London line in the 1950s and 60s. An S&DJR beginners’ layout. Young Sally will be showing her first steps layout into railway modelling.
H0 Gleisbau. (GLB) Bitterfeld. An amazing German demonstration layout in H0 DCC.
N Gauge. How it’s made. A practical layout and demonstration of how to design and build a model railway.
A Scalextric layout operated by Verity and Ashley Jones. Visitors to the show may be invited to have fun and operate the cars.
Trade support this year is from David Hyde with a selection of second hand railway items, A.P.K Models with pre-owned quality 0 gauge stock, David Smith Books, Branchlines of Westbury with kits, motors and gears etc,
Demonstrations are; Alan Doddington demonstrating white metal kit construction, and Stan Tout weathering locos and stock.
Gauge 0 Guild, the world-wide organisation for all those interested in 0 Gauge modelling are represented by Fred Lewis of Driver Lewis fame, steam locomotive driver and John Drago the international representative of the Gauge 0 Guild. Both are here representing the Gauge 0 Guild and will also have some railway items for sale.
There will be a bring and buy stand, and a raffle, with prizes donated by members of the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group.
