Westbury Town Council has closed the public toilets by the High Street car park due to their poor condition.
However, funding is in place to build replacements.
In an update, Westbury Town Council said, “The public toilets will be permanently closed in their current condition.
“The facilities are now in a very fragile state, and ongoing maintenance is no longer viable.
“Essential parts, such as the sink control units, are no longer available, meaning that any further breakdowns would result in closures with no way to repair them. Without the ability to wash hands, the entire block would have to be shut down.
“The good news is that funding is already secured to completely refurbish both toilet blocks. However, the work cannot begin until we receive the official lease from Wiltshire Council.
“Once the lease is in place, the project must go through a formal tendering and procurement process.
“We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work toward providing modern, accessible, and reliable facilities in the future.
“The public toilets on Warminster Road remain open and available to use.”
