THERE is something for everyone coming up in the next few weeks at Charlie’s Bar.
On Friday 25th September, 9.30pm – 11.45pm, high energy rock covers band Deja Vudou will take the stage. These guys certainly know their way around their guitars, performing arena rock anthems that will get your heads bobbing, your feet tapping and your rock horns waving.
Charlie’s warmly welcomes rhythm and blues band, ‘Built For Comfort’ on Saturday 26th September. Over the last nine years ‘Built For Comfort’ has created a reputation as a lively and entertaining act playing around Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, Bath, Portsmouth and Oxford.
When it comes to hot Chicago rhythm and blues, they take no prisoners. A real love for the music is evident in the musicians’ original arrangements of the classics such as ‘Need Your Love So Bad’ and ‘Bring It On Home To Me’ mixed with some lesser known numbers that never fail to please.
The group’s passion for rhythm and blues music transports their listeners to some steamy US bar, where the smoke is blue, the atmosphere lively and fun and the music excellent. This is a free gig and starts at 9.30pm.
Back by popular demand, old school rock & roll covers band The Cleyhill Stompers will raise the roof at Charlie’s on Friday 2nd October. Their set list contains classics such as Long Tall Sally and Johnny B Goode, complemented by their own take on rockabilly and 70s and 80s rock. This is not to be missed.
On Saturday 3rd October, local rock band Rock Dog take the stage. Rock Dog is a tight unit that perform songs by the likes of Queen, Free, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, AC/DC and more.
The band is full of energy and are guaranteed to get a crowd not only tapping their feet, but stamping and screaming for more.
