Westbury Rotary President Sue Ezra attended a school assembly at Matravers recently, to present the Rotary Young Chef Cup to Lucy Hubbart, winner of the 2016/17 local heats.
The Young Chef Competition was held at the school last November when the students cooked and presented a three course meal within set time limits.
Sue said, “The judges were again very impressed with the competence of the Matravers students and the wide range of culinary skills demonstrated.
“The Young Chef Competition is one of several Rotary Youth Competitions held throughout the country each year to encourage and develop the skills and talents of young people.
“Lucy will be going forward to the South West District stage of the competition, to be held this month, and I wished her every success. Thank you to the students’ tutor, Kathy Savage, and Matravers School for their much appreciated assistance and support.”
Certificates were also presented to Jack James, Hannah Kirkham, Chloe Samson and Abbie Thompson.
