WEST Wiltshire Youth Sailing Association (WWYSA), based in Westbury, needs more volunteers to help with the running of sailing courses.
Now celebrating over 50 years of sailing in Westbury, the WWYSA was set up in 1967 as a voluntary organisation and is an accredited RYA training centre. The club is looking to continue the years of teaching and is looking for experienced help.
Leaders said, “We focus mainly on introducing the sport of dinghy sailing to children aged eight and over, but also run adult sailing courses and first aid courses. Following recent publicity we have filled all the spaces for children for now and have a waiting list, so we are now looking for adult helpers to join us. All our adults are volunteers, many are also parents or grandparents of members past and present. Is sailing something you are experienced in and could share with us? Would like to know more about us?
“Are you an experienced dinghy sailor, and hold a current certificate of instruction? We would love to hear from you so that we can extend our operational week and offer more spaces to the local children. A DBS check will need to be completed.
“This is a very exciting time to join our team of volunteers as we are about to move across the lake with new facilities on the way!”
