Three sisters will be sewing for 10 hours non-stop for the Teenage Cancer Trust at a Sewathon and Craft Sale, which will be held at Providence Baptist Chapel, Dilton Marsh, on Saturday 27th May from 8am-6pm.
Local woman, Susan Stone, whose daughter Hannah was treated in the Bristol Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Unit will be joined by her sisters Jane Burchell and April Townson, to sew and raise money for the unit.
There will be a quilt display and hand crafted items for sale in the hall which will be open all day. From 10am to 4pm refreshments will be available. There is no charge for entry, but donations are welcomed for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The Just Giving page is https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Sewathon for online donations.
Susan said, “I’m excited to be doing another Sewathon. Last year Jane and I raised over £600; it would be wonderful if we could do the same or even better this year, as April is joining us all the way from Yorkshire!
“The quilt display should be bigger than last year, and we have some fantastic items for sale. From small tissue holders to beautiful handcrafted fabric boxes and bags, there should be something for everyone.
“I’m very grateful to Midsomer Quilting who have donated fabric for the backing and binding of the quilts, and of course to my two lovely sisters for joining me. Please do come in and encourage us to keep sewing, have a drink and piece of cake, enjoy looking at the quilts and buy something at the craft sale!”
