“With many concerns arising from world troubles and political confusions featuring ‘that B word’, is it too much to wish to harp back to a simpler time when you could pop down the shed and share a thermos of tea and fix the mower with a mate,” said Westbury Shed chairman Dan Gmaj.
“Has our ability to have a discussion rather that argument, laughter rather than anger, disappeared for ever in a torrent of promises and lies? OK, our community shed group is subject to it’s slice of modern madness too; health and safety procedures, insurance and a long list of ‘you cant do that’ is all around us as it is in any community group these days but, what we do is to try and make sense of it all with our many years of combined of life experience and the result is a knowing nod, a smile and a great deal of laughter too while you work on your own or help others with their projects.
“These could be anything at all by the way as there are no hard and fast rules, just guidelines and a good smattering of common sense.
“Westbury Shed is a group with the health and wellbeing of our community at it’s core because we know that human contact, laughter and working together changes lives for the better.
