INTERNATIONAL high jumper Rob Mitchell visited Bitham Brook Primary School to inspire and enthuse the children.
He challenged them to follow their dreams and believe in themselves and they heard all about healthy eating and keeping fit.
Rob’s visit was part of a school sponsored event in which all children completed a fitness circuit including press-ups and star jumps. Rob challenged the children to do the exercises every day. The highlight of the visit was when Rob jumped over the school piano! One child said, “I was amazed. I never thought he could do it.”
The day was organised by Sports for Champions, whose motto is ‘inspiring children of today to be champions of tomorrow’. The event raised £2,709.03 and 40% of this will go to fund athletes who do not receive any sponsorship.
