THE annual West Wiltshire Beekeepers Honey Show, held in the Bratton Jubilee Hall on Saturday 10th September, saw strong competition from both new and established beekeepers.
Show judges Mark and Christine Gullick from Somerset say they were impressed with the standard of entries and were pleased to award cups to Daniel Young for Best Beginner (Kate Forbes Trophy), David Newell (Chairman’s Cup), Elaine Irvine (Dick Mills Challenge Cup), Chris Rawlings (Sister Lucie Cup and Walt Conway Cup), Sue Rawlings (Aldo Cup) and to beginner Elaine Mairis, the Geraldine Lenert Excellence Award for Best in Show for her beeswax flowers.
Organisers say, “We would like to thank all those who took part and hope that it will encourage members to compete in the Wiltshire Bee and Honey Day in The Corn Exchange, Devizes on the 8 October.”
