A MOTHER and son from Westbury are braving the shave and losing all their hair to raise money for charity.
Locals Jacqui and Martin Bendle are shaving off all the hair on their heads as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s national event ‘Brave the Shave’.
“I have had members of my wife’s family that have passed after having cancer. Also relatives of my family that are going through cancer treatment,” explained Martin.
“I think everyone knows a family member or friend that has been affected by cancer.
“I just felt inspired to do something. Every little helps.”
At first, Martin was going to be facing the hair clippers alone, but when his mother Jacqui heard what he had planned, she felt inspired to join him.
“I only asked her to sponsor me, but instead she said she would do it with me!”
The mother and son duo aim to raise £600 between them.
Martin and Jacqui will brave the shave on Sunday 3rd September at the Bell Inn in Chalford at 8pm and everyone is welcome to come along to support them.
