LOCAL woman Philippa Brewer will be running the Bath Half Marathon this month for the third time for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Philippa, who is a volunteer coach for Westbury Netball Club, has already raised over £400 on her online fundraising website and is organising a raffle.
Philippa said, “All prizes for the raffle have been donated by local businesses. I have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of local business owners, especially when times are tough for everyone. Tickets are £1 for a strip of 5 and prizes include a cream tea for two at Madame Butterfly, £30 voucher for Studio Ink, meal for two with a bottle of house wine at The Hollies, a karting session at M4 Karting and an adult day pass for Longleat Safari and Adventure Park plus many more.
“I chose Wiltshire Air Ambulance because they were called to me in 2014. I was thought to have a bleed on the brain and their expertise helped get me to Frenchay as quick as possible. Training is going pretty well. I like running in the cold, so it’s great for me right now. I don’t run every day because of netball commitments and children but I do get out twice a week, and I do parkrun at Southwick on a Saturday morning. This has really helped improve my time. I’m hoping for a 1hour 50minute time to beat my personal best.”
