Tickets are already selling fast for this year’s Westbury Festival, which returns to the town from 13th to 26th July with a packed programme of entertainment, culture and community events.
Festival organisers are encouraging people to book early to avoid disappointment, with a wide range of events already attracting strong interest.
Festival programmes have now been distributed throughout the town and can be picked up from many local businesses, as well as the library and The Laverton.
This year’s programme offers ‘something for everyone’, with many events available free of charge.
Festival Chair Lisa McGowan said, “Among the highlights is Radio 4 comedian Alfie Moore, whose unique blend of policing anecdotes and stand-up comedy has earned him a loyal following. Audiences can also enjoy What Wood Victoria Do? – a witty, entertaining show in the humour of Victoria Wood.
“Another standout event is An Evening of (Very) Old Radio: The BBC Then and Now with writer and comedian Paul Kerensa, promising a fascinating and humorous journey through the history of British broadcasting.”
A variety of music acts will also perform across the two weeks, including Pal Kirtley, who will deliver a set of rock, soul, blues, Americana and folk, the Belle Street Singers, Big Brass Ska, Moscow Drug Club and the Dulcet Quartet with their Bridgerton-style event.
There will also be a pre-festival Creativity Week from Monday 6th July to Saturday 11th July, featuring a series of events and workshops including perfume making, making pinch pots, an introduction to watercolours and an open art studio.
Tickets can be purchased online at westburyfestival.org.uk or in person at the Festival Box Office, hosted by South West Hearing Care in Westbury High Street, Monday to Friday.
