WESTBURY town councillor Stephen Miles has resigned from his role for health reasons.
The councillor was re-elected onto the council in May 2013 but unfortunately since then he has suffered from a series of illnesses which were unforseen when he stood for re-election.
He will now concentrate on his musical career which has taken a back seat since he became involved in local politics.
He said, “ It is with great regret and after much thought I have decided to resign as a Westbury town councillor. There will however, be issues which from time to time I will be doubtless be involved, time permitting.
“It has been a great pleasure working for you as a town council and also with my fellow councillors. It is something I will always remember as an important part of my life. I would like to thank the town clerk and all his staff so very much for the helpfulness at all times with my work as a councillor. This has been carried out with much efficiency, great courtesy and amicable manner. All this has been conducted in the best traditions of Local Government Service.
“I wish the council and all my fellow councillors all the best in their work for the people of Westbury in the remaining years of the council. Although I will a not be a councillor I will retain a great interest in the work of the council and the issues and matters which come before it.”
