Westbury Lions U13s are now through to the semi final of the Wiltshire FA Minor Cup.
They beat a very determined Trowbridge Town Youth 3-2 after full time.
Westbury Lions were quite confident going into this game having triumphed over Trowbridge Town in a league game a week ago 7-3. However Trowbridge Town were more determined this time around and played some excellent football.
Trowbridge Town went ahead after a penalty was given in the first half for a trip in the box. It wasn’t long after before U13 Lions pulled it back to 1-1 before the interval, with a goal scored by Luke Earl Martin.
The second half continued to be very well contested with both sides playing excellent football. Westbury Lions went ahead with a second goal scored by Owen Doughty, with 20 minutes to go Jayden Weston made it 3-1.
With 15 minutes left to go Trowbridge Town pulled it back to 3-2. The last 15 minutes was a nail biting experience, with end to end action. Thankfully Lions U13s had it in the bag, final score 3-2 – the semi final beckons.
