A NEW flower box has been built for villagers in Edington after the original one was destroyed after being hit by a vehicle last month.
A few weeks ago, the flower box at Woodbridge at the entrance to the village was destroyed by a vehicle strike.
Two Trowbridge firms then offered to replace the box free of charge. A new box has now been constructed, placed on site, filled with earth and replanted.
Jacky Hiscock, chairman of Edington & District Gardening Club said, “We were delighted when All Aspect Architectural Joinery got in touch and said the company would like to replace the wooden exterior of the box, and Hiscock Engineering offered to make the metal interior.
“We’re very grateful that the box was completed so quickly. It is a very attractive asset to the village.
“I would also like to thank everyone who helped with the project including emptying the old box as well as filling and planting the new one: it was a great community effort.”
