HEYWOOD villagers are crowdfunding to install a defibrillator in the recently-adopted phone box on Church Road.
The Heywood Women’s Institute have recently gained ownership of the vacant phone box in the village and need to raise £2,000 in order to buy an AED (automated external defibrillator). They are holding a variety of community events and hope to receive support in able to purchase the device.
Their first fundraising event is a quiz night on Friday 31st January at Heywood and Hawkeridge Village Hall at 7pm. Individuals are welcome or team entry of six people. Children over 13 welcome.
There will be nibbles provided but bring your own drink. £3 per person.
