WESTBURY’s only youth club, which has been supporting young people in the town for seven years, is urgently seeking volunteers to help keep its doors open.
Westbury Youth Club provides weekly sessions during term-time, offering young people a safe space to socialise, make friends, and enjoy activities such as baking, arts and crafts, and low-level sports.
Senior youth lead, Beth Mullins, said, “Like many other charities, we’ve been hit hard by the rising cost of living. Unfortunately, grants haven’t increased to match these pressures. Now, more
than ever, we’re relying on volunteers to ensure our sessions can continue.”
The club runs every Wednesday at the Westbury Community Project, with volunteers needed from 5.45pm to 7.45pm. Each session
lasts two hours and is aimed at providing a positive environment for the town’s young people.
“We’re looking for individuals who can spare a couple of hours a week to make a difference,” added Beth. “Volunteers play a crucial role in keeping the club running and supporting the young people who attend.”
