Weight-loss consultant’s ‘gold-standard support’

Weight-loss consultant Juliet Morgan is celebrating after being recognised for the work she does to support people in Westbury to achieve their dream weight. 

She was one of around 175 high-achieving Slimming World consultants from across the UK and Ireland invited to Slimming World’s ‘Golden Anniversary Celebration 2019’, at the organisation’s head office in Derbyshire, where they met Slimming Word’s founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE. 

Held to celebrate Slimming World’s 50th birthday year, the exclusive event saw the weight loss organisation’s most successful consultants invited to celebrate the outstanding service they consistently provide to their members. This is achieved by supporting them to eat more healthily, get more active and build confidence – and ultimately accomplish their weight-loss dreams.  

Juliet Morgan has been a consultant for 18 years and lost 4st as a member herself. Attending the event puts her in the top four per cent of the organisation’s 5,000 Slimming World consultants across the UK, meaning Westbury is home to some of the very best slimming support in the country. 

As part of the day, which was themed ‘50 amazing years, one special day’, Juliet was invited to share some of her learnings from running her award-winning groups, to inspire other attendees to continue to ensure fantastic weight losses and members’ success. She also picked up tips from the other consultants there in return. All guests at the event were treated to a healthy lunch at Slimming World’s on-site restaurant, as well as hearing from the company’s founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell. 

Juliet says, “To receive an invite to such a prestigious event felt very special, it’s wonderful to be recognised as one of the highest-achieving consultants across the UK and Ireland and to know that my work in Westbury is making a real difference. I have received this award six times now and it feels incredible to know all my hard work is recognised.  

“Helping people from Westbury to achieve their dreams makes this the best job in the world and to be recognised nationally for doing something I absolutely love feels fantastic. As self-employed franchisees we are always treated so well by Slimming World, and to be invited to an event like the Golden Anniversary Celebration and meet the founder Margaret herself was amazing – it really was the VIP treatment!

“Having the chance to get together with other high-achieving consultants from across the country to share ideas and experiences is yet another example of the superb support that we get as Slimming World franchisees. 

“All Slimming World consultants receive in-depth training from the Slimming World Academy, based at Slimming World’s national Derbyshire head office. The training provided helps consultants give their members the support they need to make long-term changes to improve their health and wellbeing, as well as passing their new habits on to their member’s family. Training includes the role of diet and activity in weight management. Crucially, it also includes training in how to help members to lift the guilt and shame they may feel as a result of struggling with their weight, and help them to form healthy lifestyle habits. 

“I headed home at the end of the day brimming with ideas for helping my members, and I can’t wait to use what I’ve learned to take the support I give in group to the next level. I know what it’s like to struggle with your weight and I also know that with the right kind of support, you can really make long-term healthy changes to lose weight and keep it off for good.”
