Following Rotary president Tim Westlake’s desire for emphasis on projects for the local community, the Rotary Club of Westbury launches its inaugural general knowledge quiz at The Laverton Hall on Thursday 26th September at 7.00pm.
Aimed primarily but not exclusively at businesses, organisations, clubs and groups in the town, the intention is to provide not only an evening of keenly contested but enjoyable competition, but also an opportunity to bring together people with different disciplines, trades and interests who might otherwise never meet.
Does your company or club have a likely team to challenge, perhaps win and subsequently to go on to defend the title? Perhaps the town’s four supermarket chains would enjoy an evening of competition of a more social kind? Family and friends teams from the town and surrounding villages will also be very welcome.
Teams will compete for a champion’s trophy and monetary prizes kindly donated by Dentons Directory. A bar and light refreshments will be available.
Entries, to be made in advance, cost £20 for a team of four. Funds raised will be divided between the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and local youth charities in the Westbury area that have been supported by the Rotary Club in the past. President Tim said, “I hope you will come and join us.”
