It’s a new year so why not start it off as you mean to go on by saving each week for next Christmas or maybe a holiday.
That’s the message from the West Wilts Credit Union which operates a collection point at the Laverton Hall, Bratton Road, Westbury every Friday morning between 10.00am to 11.30am.
“You can open an account by calling to see us at our collection point right here in the town centre,” says Sue Ezra.
“By saving regularly it soon mounts up, so should you need to borrow for that unexpected bill or expense we are here to help you.
“We also offer advice to help you budget for the future. Please come along and have a chat and let us help you in any way we can.
“All the savings come from the members and we have a lot of support from local businesses.
“We are always looking for new members, but when people hear the word ‘credit’ they run a mile. In fact, a union is a great way to save money because it’s community-based and trustworthy.
“You only have to compare it to Wonga and other lenders to see that this is a much safer option.
“All members contribute as much or as little as they like to a communal savings account, from which they can borrow if they need to, or just continue to save.
“All surplus profits earned from interest are paid back to the members in the form of dividends.
