WESTBURY’S 68th Squadron Air Cadets are actively recruiting committed volunteer squadron committee members.
The Air Cadets rely on the commitment and community spirit of its adult volunteers, especially those willing to act as essential squadron committee members.
The committee provides necessary oversight for the squadron’s activities. Squadron committee meetings are monthly, on either a Wednesday or Friday evening. Presently the key posts of chairperson, secretary, and treasurer are available. Flight Lieutenant Michael Toulouse said, “It is essential that the squadron has a committee to oversee the running of the squadron; without a fully working squadron committee, chairman, secretary, treasurer and any extra volunteers, the squadron could be closed.”
The Air Cadets are a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 12 and 20 years sponsored by the Royal Air Force. They provide young people with hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop their skills, especially in leadership and developing their sense of commitment, duty, and responsibility.
If interested in volunteering for the 68th Westbury Squadron, or you would like to know more, contact Flight Lieutenant Michael Toulouse either by email on oc.68@air cadets.org, or in person on a parade evening held at West End in Westbury each Wednesday and Friday evening, 7pm to 9pm.
